Developing Effective Relationships

When we seek to develop effective relationships with others, it is important, first, to recognize the tendencies of our own personality (need for control or security? tension on the task or the relationship?); second, to consider the tendencies of the other person's personality (same questions); third, to be flexible in our own behaviors and adaptable to the situation, i.e. to be responsive to the person's expectations, while still respecting who we are.

The "other", friend, partner, spouse, child... is an important part of our own development. Thus, it is crucial to build a true relationship with them, based on mutual support and shared love, beyond the traps of our respective personalities, in order to help each other grow.

The "Essence of Relationships" program helps us explore our own responsibility in making those relationships effective towards personal and mutual development.
